How dates are set
School calendars in Spain
Each of Spain's autonomous communities sets its own school calendar, and in Andalusia each province does. Christmas and Easter fall at similar times everywhere, but the first and last day of school and the extra days off differ.
School holidays in Spain are set by the education departments of the 17 autonomous communities.
Madrid covers: Whole autonomous community (one calendar for all its provinces/islands).
Single schools can add a few days of their own (for example for teacher training or local feasts). Check with your school for those.
