Sources and coverage

Where the dates come from

Every date on NextBreak comes from an official source: an education ministry, a regional authority or an official gazette. We read each date on the source itself, record the day we checked it, and leave out anything we could not confirm. Commercial holiday sites are never a source.

26 of 27 EU member states covered, 192 regional calendars, 1239 dated breaks. Public holidays come from python-holidays (MIT), via Hourora.
